COMMIT TO YOUR CREATIVITY
A GUIDE TO WRITE YOUR OWN CO-CREATION CONTRACT & BEGIN A SEVEN-DAY PRACTICE OF CREATIVE DEVOTION
What if you committed to your creativity?
Think about how many commitments you make in a day. To your work, your relationships, the people counting on you. Your calendar is probably full of them. But when was the last time you made an actual commitment to your own creativity?
That's where the Co-Creation Contract comes in. It's a practice I've used to establish my own terms for working with inspiration, including what deserves my attention, what I'm no longer willing to let get in the way, and how I intend to show up when an idea comes calling. Because having creative potential is one thing, but building and sustaining a relationship with it is another.
I've put together an experience to walk you through the process. You'll begin with a bonus audio lesson from my program Flow State, where I'll introduce you to the Co-Creation Circuit and my approach to working with Self, Space + Spirit.
Then, you'll write your own Nine Terms of Agreement and spend the next seven days putting them into practice.
You don't need an impressive creative résumé or a masterpiece in progress. You only need a willingness to take your creative potential seriously, and see where the commitment leads!
BONUS AUDIO LESSON:
What Is The Co-Creation Circuit?
I've pulled this 26-minute audio lesson straight from Foundations, the opening week of my six-week program, Flow State, to give you a peek inside the work we do.
In this lesson, I introduce one of my favorite concepts to teach: the Co-Creation Circuit. We'll explore how Self, Space + Spirit work together, what it actually means to collaborate with your inspiration, and how you can become a more active participant in your own creative and intuitive life.

I believe Flow State is a collaboration. It’s an energetic state we can experience, but it’s also something we co-create.
There are parts of the process that belong to us, parts that belong to our environment, and parts that belong to something outside of us entirely.
I think of this relationship as The Co-Creation Circuit, a framework inspired by the three forms of luck I work with through Feng Shui: Human Luck, Earth Luck, and Spirit Luck.
But first, a few simple distinctions:
CREATIVE ENERGY is our life-force wanting expression. It’s the desire to make, write, move, cook, decorate, build, experiment, play, or bring something into form.
Creative energy says: I want to make.
INTUITION is our knowing. The ping, pull, yes, no, this way, not yet, keep going, try this instead.
Intuition says: This way.
CHANNELING is the practice of becoming available to receive and translate what comes through us. We receive something, then our humanness—our taste, history, perspective, skills, humor, desires—helps give it form.
Channeling says: Let me receive, participate, and bring this into form.
Flow State is where all three begin working together.
THE CO-CREATION CIRCUIT
Think of Flow State as a circuit rather than a switch.
There are three points in the circuit:
EARTH LUCK — THE SPACE TO FLOW
The conditions and terrain.HUMAN LUCK — THE STEPS INTO FLOW
Our aligned action and participation.SPIRIT LUCK — THE TRUST IN FLOW
Our openness to receive, trust, and surrender. All three participate. None need to be perfect.
The practice is simply learning to recognize which part of the circuit might need a little more attention.
EARTH LUCK — THE SPACE TO FLOW
Earth Luck is about our conditions and terrain: our environment, body, nervous system, energy, rest, beauty, pleasure, spaciousness, relationships, and what we consume.
Sometimes a creative block isn’t an idea problem. There simply isn’t enough room for the idea.
We may be overstimulated. We may need sleep or silence. We may need beauty, novelty, movement, or time away from everyone else’s ideas.
When we increase the beauty, enjoyment, spaciousness, and safety of our Earth Luck, we expand our capacity for Flow State.
HUMAN LUCK — THE STEPS INTO FLOW
Human Luck is our participation: our choices, actions, boundaries, practices, promises, and willingness to begin.
You can receive the greatest idea of your life and still have to open the Google Doc.
Spirit can inspire. Human Luck participates.
This is also where self-trust gets built. We listen to the intuitive hit. We keep promises to our creativity. We take the brave or honest next step.
Sometimes that step is creating. Sometimes it’s resting, saying no, changing direction, scrapping the idea, asking for help, or beginning again.
When we increase the quality, bravery, discernment, and accuracy of our Human Luck choices, we align more deeply with Flow State.
SPIRIT LUCK — THE TRUST IN FLOW
Spirit Luck is everything we cannot manufacture: timing, synchronicity, inspiration, the unexpected idea, the sentence that appears fully formed, the strange thread we feel called to follow.
We can listen, ask, create ritual, strengthen our intuitive senses, and make ourselves more receptive. But eventually, we have to release our grip.
We prepare the terrain. We participate. And then we allow ourselves to be surprised.
When we release the grip, trust what we receive, and surrender to Spirit Luck, we access Flow State with greater ease.
WHEN THE CIRCUIT FEELS OFF
When you feel creatively blocked, you can get curious about which part of the circuit needs your attention.
If you’re forcing, overworking, or obsessing over the outcome, you may need more Spirit Luck: trust, openness, surrender.
If you’re waiting for inspiration, another sign, or the perfect moment, you may need more Human Luck: participation, action, commitment.
If you have the idea and willingness but feel exhausted, overstimulated, distracted, or uninspired, you may need more Earth Luck: better conditions, rest, beauty, space, or support.
The point isn’t to perfectly optimize your creativity. Self-awareness simply gives you more choices.
FLOW IS RELATIONAL
At its simplest, Flow State is a relationship between:
SELF. SPACE. SPIRIT.
Human Luck says: I will participate.
Earth Luck says: I will make room.
Spirit Luck says: I will remain open to what I cannot control.Flow lives in the movement between all three.
Throughout these six weeks, we’ll strengthen every point in this circuit: tending to the body and our conditions, practicing participation and keeping promises to ourselves, and deepening our ability to receive, trust, discern, and surrender.
You do not have to chase Flow State. You’re learning how to create more places for Flow to find you.
And this is exactly why we’re creating a Co-Creation Contract next.
If Flow is relational, we need to understand our side of the relationship—not expectations for what creativity or Spirit owes us, but promises about how we intend to participate.
